About

The Photographic Gallery was created to celebrate the power of photography. Our vision is twofold: to build an exhibition space that highlights the thought-provoking, poignant, and inspirational work of both established and emerging photographers; and to act as a vibrant community hub featuring regular artist talks, and hands-on workshops.

The Photographic Gallery plans to extend its program over the next year – so follow us on social media or join our mailing list to keep updated.

Situated on Foster St in what is known as 'The Hollywood Quarter', The Photographic Gallery is surrounded by a number of renown galleries, restaurants, cafes, bakeries and bars. It's an interesting neighbourhood that is well worth the visit.

Tim Levy – Gallery Director
Tim has decades of experience in the photographic industry, bringing a wealth of knowledge spanning exhibition curation, fine art printing, and publishing. As a freelance photographer, industry writer, and the Editor of Capture magazine, he has spent years documenting the world and profiling the best in the business.

Beyond his own creative practice, Tim is deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of visual storytellers. He holds Certificates IV in Photography as well as Training & Assessment, working actively as a photographic educator and a trusted judge for prestigious photographic competitions. His understanding of what makes an image resonate helps shape the gallery’s curatorial direction.
